Liars And False Prophets

 Liars And False Prophets

Where are the news-people who have the honesty of Edward R. Murrow, Ernie Powell, Walter Cronkite,  and Clare Boothe Luce?  They truthfully reported the news in print, on the airwaves and on television. They had the love and respect  of the American People.  There are few "news-people" today, who are worthy to stand in their shadow.

At 8:10 pm EST, on January 13. 2011, an Associated Press story that was written by Charles Babington, with contributions made by Donna Cassata appeared on my computer.  The headline for the story read:

 Any Pause In Harsh Rhetoric
May Be Short-lived

The story was short on facts and full of WHAT MIGHT BE.  These type of prophecies belong more in a vaudeville routine than in a news story.

I am not singling out Babington and Cassata for any particular personal criticism other than the story is one example of what is wrong in much of the news reporting in this country . There are some who call themselves political analysts who are simply paid liars. There are some who call themselves news reporters when they are prejudicial analysts or those who make up the  news by spreading half-truths or outright lies.

These particular news-people are guilty of the same things that they are condemning our politicians of doing,  By their use of UNSUBSTANTIATED accusations, half-truths, lies, and  harsh political commentary, they are contributing to the unrest and division in Our Country. The "Freedom Of The Press" principle is supposed to help keep the government honest. Who is keeping the "Press" honest?

If the "NEWS" would honestly report what is happening in This Country, without any prejudices or hidden agendas or any prophecies by God, they might regain the respect they once enjoyed.  And then, MAYBE, our political leaders might be more cooperative and start acting in ways that are best for the United States Of America.
