War Weary

War Weary

I want to begin this post by stating that I sincerely believe that the majority of American media - newspaper, magazine, radio and television - are very biased and that thier biases affect the way they report the news,  how they slant it, and how often they report rumours as facts.  Some of them publish stories that they KNOW are lies or they contain elements that are lies.  Many of their blanket statements are exagerations.

They get away with many of their lies by substituting their own "commentary" on the news instead of actually  reporting the news.

One of the things that they have been attempting to do is to convince the American citizen that they are "War Weary".   The following are 3 illustrations.

President Bush's Oval Office Speech

Sept. 12, 2006:  NBC's Kelly O'Donnell reports. -
President Bush's Oval Office speech last night was the culmination of two weeks of efforts to rally the nation behind his policies and presidency by summoning the memory of Sept. 11, 2001. Five years after that indelible day, however, this president's capacity to move the public is severely diminished. There were echoes of the language and logic Bush invoked five years ago when he united a stricken nation looking to him for both comfort and leadership. But he was speaking to a different nation last night. Setbacks in Iraq have soured a majority of Americans on that mission.  Falsely optimistic predictions of progress, have undermined the administration's credibility.  A majority of Americans question fundamental elements of the president's argument, including his contention that Iraq is the central front in the campaign against terrorism.

John McCain's Campaign Remarks

ROCKY RIVER, Ohio (AP) - John McCain said Monday that to win the White House he must convince a war-weary country that U.S. policy in Iraq is succeeding. If he can't, "then I lose. I lose," the Republican said.

Obama Touts Afghan War Progress

Washington – President Barack Obama told war-weary Americans on Thursday that enough progress was being made in Afghanistan to begin withdrawing US troops in July, even as he faces growing doubts about his war strategy.

You Haven’t Earned The Right
To be ‘War-Weary’

In its ongoing effort to demoralize you and tell you how you should feel, so that we can have defeat and a proper humiliation of America, the Washington Post informs us that Americans are ‘war-weary’.

Well that is impossible. Sorry, seeing the same images of stuff blowing up in Iraq does not give you the right to claim you are ‘war-weary.’

You aren’t there, you aren’t fighting. The guys in Iraq and Afghanistan are the ones who can claim to be war-weary, not you.

You are not making sacrifices for this war, you are not doing without. There are no scrap metal drives, there is no rationing, there are no shortages, there are no war bonds.

War effort?  What war effort?

Unless you are in the military or are related to someone who is, there is no war. Other than those hurt or killed and their loved ones, America is not paying a price.

Stop Your Whining.

I also believe that there are many Americans who only care enough to become active in politics or getting out to vote, is when they decide it is Best For Their Family and Friends instead of what is best for America And All The Rest Of Its Citizens.   The men and women who are in power appreciate that attitude.  It enables them to stay in power.
